Hundreds and Thousands - Scout Editions Mini Card

The tiny sugar decorations on cakes were first made by European bakers in the 18th century. In French, they’re called nonpareils, meaning ‘without equal’. They’re now known as hundreds and thousands or sprinkles.

Scout Editions is a paper goods brand and design practice based in London. With a love for print, colour and folklore. This is a space to explore our ideas and stories. We are inspired by ephemera, travel, nature, vintage picture books, history and archives. We take observations from the every day and find ways to translate and document our findings.
