UNITOM is a visual arts orientated bookshop and lifestyle store offering a hand-picked selection of cultural inspiration, located in the heart of Manchester’s Northern Quarter on Stevenson Square.
We offer a wide array of publications on contemporary art, design, fashion, photography and counterculture alongside an extensive range of independent magazines, self-published and small press titles sourced from artists and publishers around the globe.
Our vision is to create shared experiences and conversations in store and online and to offer a unique retail voice within Manchester and provide an international destination for people who love and collect art.
The name UNITOM is a portmanteau of the words universal and tomorrow.

UNITOM are a small but dedicated team with a shared enthusiasm for arts and culture with a passion for printed matter and practical products designed to enhance our style of living.

Store Manager and Buyer – With over a decade of experience as a bookseller and buyer within the arts, Tim selects the titles UNITOM carries and manages the daily routine within the space. Tim’s particular passion lies in self-publishing and has amassed a huge zine collection, if you’ve published your own work, he’d love to see it.
Assistant Store Manager – With a number of years working in galleries and as a bookseller, Ieva assists in the operations within the UNITOM space. Ieva has a passion for contemporary art and art theory, having her words and interviews published in émergent magazine.

Co-founder – With over 20 years of experience in graphic design, branding and digital marketing, Wini has led creative campaigns for clients such as Amnesty International, BBC, Dr Martens and Adidas. An avid art collector himself and self-confessed hoarder of books, mags & vinyl toys, it’s clear why he established UNITOM.

Co-founder – For the last decade, Matthew has been fully immersed in the art world having worked for several contemporary art galleries and more recently as an art advisor to various private collectors. This passion for art and his love for reading will extend to the UNITOM™ store. When he is in, you will likely find him in one of the armchairs, reading an art magazine and enjoying a coffee.

Bookseller – A Manchester based poet with a soft spot for strange and slick magazines that are doing things a bit sideways; Rose believes in getting lost in words and is always happy to match creatives up with niche books they’ll love. Her poetry has been published in literary journals, shortlisted for the Bridport, and Forward prize nominated. When she’s not at UNITOM she likes to run about in the woods!

Bookseller – A self-stated obsessive over fashion and visual arts, Aaron bought his first copy of Vogue magazine in Prestwich at aged 12 and has never looked back. Since then he’s built an impressive modelling and styling portfolio, as well as assisting on runway shows at London Fashion Week. As an image maker, visual merchandiser, collage artist and occasional go-go dancer; Aaron brings one-of-a-kind creative energy to UNITOM’s shop floor (and tons of Mancunian charm!).

Shop Dog – If Ieva is in you’re likely to find Dax the miniature poodle to greet you on arrival. Woof!
