Betty Brown Teapot - Scout Editions Mini Card
'A Brown Betty is a round teapot that is made out of red Etruria Marl clay and a transparent or dark brown Rockingham Glaze. Named ‘Brown Betty’ because of its characteristics of the red clay and brown glaze. The red clay was discovered in Stoke-on-Trent in Britain in 1965. This clay resulted in a ceramic which seemed to retain heat better.'

Scout Editions is a paper goods brand and design practice based in London. With a love for print, colour and folklore. This is a space to explore our ideas and stories. We are inspired by ephemera, travel, nature, vintage picture books, history and archives. We take observations from the every day and find ways to translate and document our findings. Many are made into editions and sometimes we collaborate we fellow designers and brands. Formed by brother and sister, Wai and Pui. Pui is a graphic designer and illustrator.
