The inaugural issue of PILLAGER zine is now available!

Alongside a team of 30 collaborators, this independent zine explores the theme of 'Space and Spirituality' - in broad and narrow terms.

Briefly: DIY zine culture, deeply rooted in the rebellious spirit of punk, emerged during the late 1970s and early 1980s as a powerful manifestation of self-publishing and individual expression. Fueled by a desire to break free from mainstream constraints, punk enthusiasts turned to homemade zines as a means to share their raw and unfiltered thoughts. With affordable photocopying technology, the movement democratised publishing, allowing anyone with a message to become a publisher. Beyond the photocopied pages, DIY zines forged a sense of community through mail exchanges, creating decentralised networks that transcended geographical boundaries. This grassroots movement, with its diverse themes and voices, has left a lasting legacy, influencing activists who continue to celebrate the authenticity and freedom inherent in the DIY ethos.

Stemming from this legacy comes the beast that is PILLAGER... welcoming all fellow pillagers along the way on a journey of expression and creativity.
