Lore #2 - The Daddy Issue

If this issue has a central thesis, it’s that daddy energy isn’t about actual masculinity, it’s about providing for those around you. I think it’d appeal to folks who read other titles you carry like AFM, Tax, Serviette, and Boys Boys Boys, and it’s got that fine balance between playfulness, style and substance.

The Daddy Issue has three photo editorials, and custom illustrations from Aykeh, Salma Ragheb, and Nick Schloessin. Our cover feature “The Heat” was shot by photographer Albert Hoang, and explores those different manifestations of daddy sensuality — from the fixer daddy to the femme daddy. Photographer Jibril Yassin also contributed  “The Secret Life of Uncles,” which positions the uncle as a lost daddy figure, and Anita Gairns contributed “Daddy is an Attitude,” which separates that all-crucial protector energy from literal masculinity.
