'Parade' is a 36-page photo-essay on the carnivals at Hazel Grove near Stockport and Buxton in Derbyshire, which were both held on the same Saturday in July 2024. Through 26 colour images, the zine candidly documents the preparations, audience and sideshows at these two events, giving a picture of a day of festivities in the round. Included are images of the carnival procession at Hazel Grove gathering in a seemingly-incongruous housing estate, fairground amusements in a nearby park, and lively crowds assembling on Hazel Grove's main street. A dance troupe is seen finalising its formation, a marching band tunes up, and others get ready for the show. Buxton's enjoyable parade and its audience are well-represented in the second part of the zine, and the sequence is topped off with a good number of scenes from Buxton's busy fun-fair, this year invigorated by a late afternoon cloudburst. 210 x 148 mm.
