Magpie Zine honours the sentimental, the useless, the small, and the personal. The objects featured in the zine were submitted as part of a call-out for photographs of personal keepsakes. The written pieces contributed by the owners of these keepsakes speak to our personal identities, explorations of gender, and the beauty of sentimentality. The submitted images have been reworked using a variety of printmaking techniques as a way of bringing these objects to life. The zine itself acts as a form of creative archiving, as these objects and stories are often overlooked by traditional academia and archival collections.
