In Material is a brief index of Manchester, containing abstract architectural photography, collage, tape transfer, drawing, and free writing. It entails an emotional response to the claustrophobia and suffocation of living in a city after only knowing quiet countryside. The interaction of materials was overwhelming; modern architecture and its historic counterparts; streets of buildings upon buildings multiplied through their reflections in huge panes of glass overstimulates the brain, and I got lost In Material.
