This book is a collection of photographs from Larry Clark’s archives, captured during the time he was directing Kids. These images offer an unfiltered look at 1990s New York City, a moment in time that has since become mythologized. What began as snapshots of a downtown scene would go on to document the early lives of individuals who shaped the future of skateboarding, art, fashion, and underground culture. Justin Pierce, Harold Hunter, Chloë Sevigny, Leo Fitzpatrick, Jeff Pang, Keith Hufnagel, Javier Núñez; figures who embodied an energy that still echoes through the city today. While decades have passed, the spirit of that era remains. The people, the streets, the attitudes - all left a permanent imprint on New York and global culture. In loving memory of those not here today.
