UNITOM is a visual arts orientated bookshop and print/editions gallery offering a hand-picked selection of cultural inspiration, located in the heart of Manchester’s Northern Quarter on Stevenson Square.
We offer a wide array of publications on contemporary art, design, fashion, photography and counterculture alongside an extensive range of independent magazines, self-published and small press titles sourced from artists and publishers around the globe.
The store will also offer a range of exclusive prints and artists editions, including works by Iain.H.Williams, Alex Giles and Skateroom and well as a carefully curated selection of lifestyle objects from Kinto and Freitag, to Penco and London Undercover.
Our vision is to create shared experiences and conversations in store and online and to offer a unique retail voice within Manchester and provide an international destination for people who love and collect art.
The name UNITOM is a portmanteau of the words universal and tomorrow.

UNITOM are a small but dedicated team with a shared enthusiasm for arts and culture with a passion for printed matter and practical products designed to enhance our style of living.

Store Manager and Buyer – With over a decade of experience as a bookseller and buyer within the arts, Tim selects the titles UNITOM carries and manages the daily routine within the space. Tim’s particular passion lies in self-publishing and has amassed a huge zine collection, if you’ve published your own work, he’d love to see it.
Assistant Store Manager – With a number of years working in galleries and as a bookseller, Ieva assists in the operations within the UNITOM space. Ieva has a passion for contemporary art and art theory, having her words and interviews published in émergent magazine.

Co-founder –  With over 20 years experience in design, branding and digital marketing, Wini has lead creative campaigns for clients such as Amnesty International, Greenpeace, BBC, Dr. Martens and Adidas. An avid art collector himself and self-confessed hoarder of books, magazines and vinyl toys, it’s clear why he established UNITOM. Wini also vandalised a lot of British Rail property in the 80s (allegedly)

Co-founder – For the last decade Mathew has been fully immersed in the art world having worked for a number of contemporary art galleries and more recently as a freelance art advisor. This passion for the arts will extend to the Unitom store. He spends far too much time drinking coffee and will be frequently found lurking in the nook with a fresh cup.
Shop Dog – If Ieva is in you’re likely to find Dax the miniature poodle to greet you on arrival. Woof!
