Noisé #5

‘At the crossroads of contemporary art and fashion’

The fifth issue of hefty biannual Noisé is titled ‘Jeux d’eau,’ translated as ‘water games,’ and is a homage to pianist Maurice Ravel’s 1901 acclaimed solo piece of the same name. Inspired by the ‘fluidity, stillness, and quiet force of water,’ the issue spotlights creatives with a relationship to the issue’s theme of transformation. Central to the edition is a 26-page feature on former New York gallerist Marian Goodman, examining her enduring influence on the art world and marking a new era for the gallery following her retirement. Elsewhere, discover conversations with multidisciplinary artist Hélène Delprat, actress Julianne Moore, fashion world figures Fabien Baron and Alastair McKimm, and more, as well as a poignant feature remembering Nancy Holt and Robert Smithson.

Each copy also includes a special supplement titled ‘Helmut Lang: What remains behind,’ featuring new documentation by Tang Siyu of Helmut’s fist series, on display at MAK Center Los Angeles earlier this year.

About noisé:

Founded in 2016 in New York, noisé is an independent print biannual and digital platform on art and fashion.

It’s about good stories that last; It’s about visions and sensations that do not diminish; It’s about true beauty, whether inside or outside; It’s about trusting our instincts and breaking the rules; it’s about our faith that people with a gift and people with a dream, will shine.
