Homage To The Labour Of Craft - Dan Fontanelli

The idea of finding one form, one material, one skill set to spend a life working with, honing, mastering and making your own is a beautiful thing.

Over the last 8 years I've been visiting  makers and artists. Initially interested in what was being made and then the space where the making was taking place but finally I realised that the pull was the labour. People who were committed to a life of labour in pursuit of a singular goal and all the ups, downs, stresses and rewards that entails. My admiration for this way of life and guttural belief that this is a good thing, individually and societally, led to this book. A small way of showing my respect and shining a light.
