Welcome to the 8th issue of HAPAX, an international photography publication which commissions and publishes new photographic ideas, only in print. Including new projects from Hicham Gardaf (MA/UK), Karl Bailey (UK), Marta Bogdańska (PL), Rinko Kawauchi (JP) and Tanya Traboulsi (LB). Issue 8 marks fifty new projects commissioned for the pages of HAPAX in our issues to date. We hope you will treasure this special collection of images you can’t find elsewhere in print.

Hapax Co-editors Christiane Monarchi and Gordon MacDonald bring you Hapax Magazine, through which we work to reset the idea of a visual arts magazine: enabling the creation of new images and ideas while supporting the artists and authors making them, to be enjoyed by an international audience.

It’s a simple proposition, one that draws on the editors’ experience working across publishing, image making, commissioning and curating.
