Fuyan Farm and Washing Station, managed by Mrs. Na and Mr. Li, is nestled in the mountainous Menglian region of Yunnan, China. Mr. Li, a native of Yunnan, transitioned from working in rubber plantations and the tea industry to cultivating high-quality coffee alongside his wife. Today, Fuyan is known for producing some of the highest Q-scoring coffees in Yunnan—an achievement credited to their meticulous quality control and strong relationships with local Lahu pickers, an indigenous ethnic group. The 80-acre farm sits at 1,600 to 1,700 meters above sea level and is interspersed with shade-providing trees like macadamia, fruit, and legumes. Beyond coffee, Fuyan is a thriving mixed-agriculture operation, also producing specialty-grade tea and raising chickens, pigs, ducks, and fish, while cultivating orchids, chilies, and Chinese herbs—all within the lush, biodiverse landscape of the Yunnan mountains.
Dark Arts Coffee is a coffee roaster started by friends in East London with twisted visions of using alchemy to combine fire, water and magic beans into a divine elixir.
