Earlier this month, we hosted a beautiful evening here at UNITOM, celebrating the launch of Lodestars Anthology: Japan Revisited. The event featured a conversation between the magazine’s founder and creative director Liz Schaffer, designer Thomas Harrison, and contributing photographer Chiara Dalla Rosa. Together, they shared insights into their creative process, their love of collaboration, and the stories behind the pages of Lodestars Anthology.
Guests were treated to a delightful selection of tea, sake, and Umeshu with soda, provided by A Taste of Japan, adding an authentic touch to the evening.
The discussion was a reminder that you don’t have to physically visit a place to feel its essence. Lodestars Anthology takes you on a journey through its stunning photography and heartfelt writing, offering a moment of escapism and inspiration.
The conversation touched on everything from slow travel and the Japanese concept of wabi-sabi to the joys of creating as a side hustle. Liz’s advice for travellers—“be kind, take everything step by step, and be a sponge”—resonated deeply, reminding us of the value of approaching life and creativity with an open heart and mind.
If you missed the event, we’re excited to share the recording with you below. Pour yourself a cup of tea and enjoy!
