On Saturday 25th October, we welcomed IDEA Books and photographer Peter J. Walsh for the launch of FLESH - a photographic record of the queer club nights at the Haçienda
FLESH, the club night at The Haçienda, began on 30th October 1991 and quickly became a defining part of Manchester’s iconic club scene. Defiant and liberating, it filled one of the UK’s most famous clubs with thousands of LGBTQ+ people, making FLESH more than just a club night — it was a statement of community, identity and solidarity.
The photographs by Peter J. Walsh capture the spirit of FLESH, bringing back memories of unforgettable nights and offering a glimpse into the energy, freedom and sense of community that filled the club. Through these images, we get a sense of what it must have felt like to be there, raving at one of the most iconic club nights in history.
